Depaul and Georgetown need to go 1-19 in league play for us to get 6 bids imo. I think we are in the 4-5 range right now. Losing to either will destroy yout NET. I fear Georgetown will pick off some teams...

That’s exactly right but they won’t. At least the Hoyas won’t. Hate on Cooley all you want PC fans, but he’s going to turn GTown around and I think sooner than later.

Me donating $20 to St Jude's everytime Georgetown sucks elephant stones has no bearing on their game results, haha.

Well if it's true Georgetown is going to win a few games this year, I hope they get it started this weekend against Syracuse. If you win that one, I'll be willing to forgive a few of the other earlier season stumbles.

Why did DePaul have such a tough OOC schedule? I looked and right now they have the 3rd best avg opponent in the country. All but 1 opponent so far in the top 141 of the NET. And that other opponent, South Dakota, is at 225.

I was thinking the same thing. That schedule is crazy for a team that is in continual rebuilding cycle.

For us old time Big East guys, there is always something special about beating ACC teams, former Big East schools and Syracuse in particular. The fact that UNC lost to both Nova and UConn is spectacular. The Hoyas need to beat Syracuse.

So was looking at the NET compared to RPI....
UConn Net 7 RPI 8 -1
Seton Hall N 85 RPI 115 - 30
SJ N 59 R 108 -49
DePaul N 269 R 207 +52
Butler N 56 R 75 -19
X N 91 R 157 -66
Georgetown N 221 R 281 -60
Creighton N 5 RPI 22 -17
Villanova N 55 RPI 86 -29
Providence N 64 RPI 46 +18
Marquette N 9 RPI 4 +5

N avg 83.73
R avg 100.82

so 7 teams way better with NET. Only DePaul and Providence way better with RPI. 2 teams really close.

Those are some pretty big disparities. Wonder if it levels out as the season progresses. On a side note, while it would be great to see the Hoyas beat Syracuse, also would be terrific to to see X get straightened out against Cincy.
